Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you couldn’t enjoy an experience with your family or friends? Did you have to leave early or find yourself choosing not to go at all?

For many years, I struggled with overwhelming anxiety in social settings and everyday activities. And then it became a cycle of being overwhelmed at the event, so I became less inclined to go to another one, which led to more anticipatory anxiety, so I went into the event heightened, then I would get overwhelmed at the event, and so on.

In this episode, I’m offering 6 strategies to increase your distress tolerance and reduce anxiety so that feeling overwhelmed doesn’t steal your joy.
