With a mission to create a safe and comfortable environment for women, particularly in the intimate field of plastic surgery, Dr. Kulkarni emphasizes the importance of personalized care and a welcoming space for her patients.
Dr. Kulkarni was born in New Jersey to Indian immigrant parents and spent part of her childhood in Seoul, Korea. She moved to the DMV area 12 years ago and has been a plastic surgeon in the region since then, including five years in a group practice in Bethesda. She started her own practice in 2018 with a vision to create a practice focused on women's care.
Dr. Kulkarni acknowledges that being a doctor does not automatically make one a good businessperson, and that running a business requires a different set of skills. She faced challenges such as finding out about new insurance requirements and feeling isolated as a business owner. However, she has learned to adapt and overcome these challenges, and has even started a networking group for women business owners, DC Female Business Owners, to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
The growth of the group has been organic, driven by word-of-mouth and social media, and Dr. Kulkarni is committed to continuing to grow and evolve the group. With lessons learned from her own business experience, she is well-positioned to lead the group and inspire other women entrepreneurs in the DMV area. In an ever-changing industry, finding a niche market can be the key to success. We're going to explore the story of Dr. Kulkarni, who has built a thriving private practice catering specifically to women's needs. With her unique approach to plastic surgery, she has carved out a space where women feel safe, comfortable, and empowered.
