The Wisdom of God

What does it mean to be wise? Does it mean being able to quote obscure sayings? Does it mean being savvy in dealing with people? Or does it mean just knowing how to survive in our changing world? So far, in our "Focal Point" sermon series looking at an overview of the Bible, we have followed the history of God's people in the Old Testament up until King David. Now we must take a break from history for a bit because there is a large section of Scripture often called the Wisdom Literature that, as you might guess, has a lot to say about wisdom. In a sermon called "The Wisdom of God" we look at an overview of the wisdom literature in the books of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. Here we see that true wisdom begins with a proper attitude toward God, is lived out in a proper understanding of who God is, and is about how we live in relationship with God day to day.
