The summer box office smash Top Gun Maverick has left its mark on movie goers, and I’ve invited fighter pilots, Lt. Col. Lance Bowlin from the One-Seventy Second Airlift in Flowood, MS and Capt. Benjamin Ayivorh from Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, MS to talk about the history and impact that they have on the state as well as the impact that Mississippi Air Force Bases have on the nation. They tell their story on how they became pilots, their past and current missions and their take on the Top Gun flying scenes from the film.
Marshall Ramsey, a nationally recognized editorial cartoonist, shares his cartoons and travels the state as Mississippi Today’s Editor-At-Large. He’s also host of a "Now You're Talking" on MPB Think Radio and "Conversations" on MPB TV, and is the author of several books. Marshall is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a 2019 recipient of the University of Tennessee Alumni Professional Achievement Award.
