Why was an Egyptian Mummy wrapped in an Etruscan Linen Book? The Liber Linteus is dated to the 3rd century BCE and was used as mummy wrappings in Ptolemaic Egypt. Although the Etruscans were a people who inhabited Etruria in ancient Italy, prior to the Roman Empire. The mummy was bought as a souvenir in Egypt in 1848 and taken back to the new owner's home in Vienna. However, the wrappings were not discovered to be significant until 1877. How or why would a Estrucan linen book been used to wrap a mummy and what does it say?
