Steph, a 26-year-old from Corydon with type one diabetes, epilepsy, dyspraxia, and autism, discusses her challenges in employment and public transport. She notes that employers often reject her due to her epilepsy, despite her capabilities. Steph shared that disclosing her disabilities sometimes leads to job rejections or lack of response. In public transport, she faces issues with people not offering her a seat despite her lanyard. Steph suggests more priority seats and better training for employers and public transport staff to improve inclusivity and understanding of hidden disabilities. She emphasised the need for visible signs and awareness campaigns to promote respect for the sunflower lanyard.
