Episode 152 is the second in a new series of episodes that chronicle the story of the Garrison investigation in New Orleans and the related trial of Clay Shaw. This episode begins to introduce Jim Garrison and the events that occurred in New Orleans on the day of the Assassination and over that weekend as Garrison's team absorb the shock of the event and begin to engage in the investigation, handing their results over swiftly to the FBI. Jim Garrison was the New Orleans district attorney and, a result of his investigation into the murder of JFK, Clay Shaw was indicted by a grand jury and tried on conspiracy charges to assassinate the president. It was the only criminal trial ever conducted in the United States related to the president's murder. Garrison's investigation and trial became the inspiration and partial basis for Oliver Stone's movie JFK. Today's episode introduces us to some of the key elements that are important to understand about the significance of the Garrison trial, despite its outcome.
