What will we learn this week?
What is the definition of "Tradition"
- To hand down something/ pass on a natural level
- Sacred Tradition: You are handing down "holy things", or "eternal things"
- Jesus gave to us the mysteries of the church teachings
- Doctrine of the Faith
- Pathway to Jesus
- Tradition has been under attack for a long time
- you can can't change the eternal truth of our Catholic faith
- Truth is Truth
- Different with Protestants believe only the bible is where we get truth
- This is not true
- The bible itself was handed down to us by sacred tradition
- There is The Church's doctrine/eternal truth/sacred tradition that tells us which books are in the bible
- Sacred Tradition must be expressed
- Tradition is not dynamic because dynamic means change
- Our Catholic Church's Doctrine is unchanging
- Formulation of the doctrine has changed, which mean give a more defined expression of The Church's Doctrine
- However, the actual truths have not changed
- The Formulation of The Doctrine has been clarified over time through the saints/ doctor's of the Church

- Is it clear to you that The Bible is part of the Doctrine but it doesn't stand alone. We need the church teachings and the scriptures to live by.
- Have you been challenged by protestants before? Maybe not knowing how to respond when they proclaim the bible alone is all you need for the truth?
